MU Flood Hazard Research Centre, Middlesex University (MU)

Established in 1970, the Flood Hazard Research Centre at Middlesex University (MU) is a world centre of expertise in the socio-economic assessment of flood and floodplain management options. A series of four manuals produced by the centre form the basis of the economic appraisal of flood and coastal defence projects in the United Kingdom. Beyond the UK, we have acted in various capacities in countries including Argentina, Bangladesh, China, France, Germany and Hungary.  We have also worked for international bodies including the WMO, OECD, World Bank and various branches of the United Nations.
